Cockroaches that are found in human dwellings are:
German cockroach (Blattella germanica)
Oriental cockroach (Blatta orientalis)
American cockroach (Periplaneta americana)
Life cycle:
There is an egg, nymph and adult stage
From egg to adult stage is 2 to 3 months
Adults live for 9 to 10 months
Cockroaches are found in moist dark areas. They feed off organic material but are also known to eat things containing starch, for example: paper or substances with sugar, such as syrup. Cockroaches carry disease and can contaminate food products.
